Product Description

Size: 90x130x17; compatible with DAF part numbers 1404690, 1700523, and ACU6695.
CORTECO part number: 19034570B.
Suitable for DAF models including the LF45, LF55, and FA45 series.
Oil seal functions:
1. Retaining lubricant (preventing internal leakage): Truck rear-axle wheel bearings rely on significant amounts of grease or gear oil for high-speed lubrication. Installed on the inner side of the wheel bearing, this oil seal’s primary task is to securely seal the lubricant within the bearing cavity, preventing it from leaking outward onto the brake discs (or brake drums).
2. Blocking contaminants from harsh environments (preventing external ingress): Trucks often operate in challenging conditions—such as infrastructure projects, construction sites, or areas with rain and snow—where wheels are exposed to mud, wastewater, and dust. This cassette-style oil seal features a multi-lip dust-proof design that creates a powerful labyrinth-style barrier, preventing external contaminants from entering the bearing assembly.
3. Reducing journal wear and extending maintenance intervals: Standard single-component oil seals rub directly against the truck's axle housing (journal) during rotation; over time, this friction creates grooves that can render the axle unusable. In contrast, this cassette-style oil seal features an internal rotating sealing surface. Friction and wear occur entirely within the seal assembly itself, resulting in zero wear on the truck's original axle journal. This greatly simplifies the rear-axle maintenance process, eliminating the need for truck drivers to repair the axle housing when replacing the seal.
