Functions of the oil seal in the truck:
1. During engine operation, the seal's inner lip fits tightly against the 180mm diameter crankshaft journal, effectively blocking engine oil and preventing leakage from the rear of the crankshaft into the flywheel housing and clutch compartment.
2. PTFE Material (Resistant to extreme heat and high speeds): Traditional rubber oil seals (such as NBR) are prone to hardening and cracking during long-distance truck operations. PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene/Teflon) is a friction-resistant material characterized by ultra-high temperature resistance (over 200°C), chemical corrosion resistance, and an extremely low coefficient of friction.
3. Contaminant and Exhaust Gas Barrier (External Leakage Prevention): The seal features a dedicated external dust lip that prevents dust from clutch plate wear, debris inside the flywheel housing, and external foreign matter from entering the engine, thereby protecting the main bearings from contamination.
